Construction Works Begin for the Historic Athens Olympic Swimming Pool at Zappeion

GDM Assets has undertaken the reconstruction and upgrade of the Athens Olympic Swimming Pool on behalf of the Hellenic Olympic Committee. This historic swimming facility, located at Zappeion, will serve as the main training and competition center for Greece’s national water polo and swimming teams. Within one year, aquatic sports in Greece are expected to benefit from modern facilities that will provide a safe and dignified environment for the development and promotion of sports in the country.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 27, 2026, and was attended by representatives from Greece’s political and sports leadership, members of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, as well as sports federations, Olympians, coaches, and athletes from the national aquatic sports teams.
