Renovation of the entrance, foyer, and façade of the Museum of Cycladic Art on Neofytou Douka Street in Kolonaki. The construction works are taking place at the main building of the Museum, which houses the permanent collections, the Cycladic Café, and the Cycladic Shop. The goal of the renovation is to create a contemporary, fully functional, and accessible cultural space.
Enhancing
Our Cultural Heritage
The Museum of Cycladic Art is entering a new era, reaffirming its status as one of Greece’s most significant museums and the sole ambassador of Cycladic culture and its artistic legacy. With a renewed façade and entrance, the museum will be transformed into an urban landmark and a meeting point that invites visitors from the street into a unified, bright interior. The core design principles for the new entrance focus on maximizing the façade’s opening to better connect the foyer with the exterior and improve circulation for both visitors and staff within a relatively limited space.
Renovating
With Inclusion In Mind
The renovation involves updating the building’s exterior façade, redesigning the entrance with a new staircase, completely renovating and reconfiguring the foyer, and reorganizing the vertical circulation elements throughout the building. Specifically, the project includes upgrading existing elevators and adding new ones, along with the complete renovation of staircases across all levels. The renovation will also involve structural demolitions, structural reinforcements, masonry works, timber and metal constructions, and electromechanical upgrades.
